Project Management
BBB also manage development projects on behalf of investors. 33 Swift Street in Thornbury is one example. The shortage of affordable homes in Thornbury drew BBB to the area. The Swift Street block was selected because it was 20 meters wide, on a quiet street near amenities and public transport. Architect Caroline Vernon, who also worked on BBB’s Parkhill Road and Paterson St projects, designed three modern homes, with a slightly traditional twist.
Hips roofs, weatherboard cladding and white French doors and windows work perfectly with the high ceilings, oak floors and north-facing alfresco zones common in BBB developments.
A bathroom at 33 Swift Street. Note the tiled floor, which matches the French Grey Oak floor used in the kitchen and living areas.
All the kitchens in the Swift Street development include Wayward Grey 2-pack cabinets, Smeg appliances and Australian-made Infinity tiles.
Australian-made tiles, based on an old pressed metal design, feature in the kitchens and bathrooms. The Wayward Grey bespoke kitchen cabinetry works with the ready-made, slightly distressed bathroom vanities.
Two of the three homes sold off the plan and the third was bought when the build was complete.
